Hello Dear Friends,
During this hectic time of the year, I prefer to shop in the small shops instead of the large malls. Went to one of my favorite shops in Arcadia called Magnolia and ended up buying something for myself instead of the birthday gift I went in to buy...but could not resist this darling angel on top of this magnificent crown box. My husband and I decided it will stay out all year, not just during this holy season.
This is the open box, do not know yet what to keep in it but I'm sure I will think of something.
For now it graciously sits here adorning our bedroom.
Hope everyone has a beautiful week shopping, visiting, baking and more. This is one of the reasons I prefer smaller shops, they are faster and allows me time to come home and get my baking done...and doesn't the house smell delicious when we bake? So yummy.
Thank you so much for visiting, I am listening to Christmas music and actually feeling just a tad lonely and sad thinking of my parents. This was always such a special time for all of us to have mom and dad here, however we know they are in heaven and safe.

Hi Lu, I like your crown box and I am like you it could be kept out all year around. I would keep some of the little things that I am always hunting for and can't remember exactly where I put them. We have a couple more doctor appointments yet this year. I will know for sure after Monday's appointment if we have to have another iron infusion. I know that he is losing blood again part time. We are a great deal like you and basically the medications just maintain him. I just don't want a hospital stay right now with everything and the holidays. I lost both of my parents, my mom the week before Christmas and dad on Christmas Day when they past away. I still don't like the holidays for that reason, but it gets better over the years and we have three boys who make grandma and grandpa busy with their activities. Take care. Hugs and Prayers come your way from your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI miss people at Christmas too, my grandson and my grandmothers and my brother. It does make Christmas bittersweet, but I take comfort also in knowing they are with God.
ReplyDeleteHI ROSETTA!
ReplyDeleteYOUR CROWN BOX IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
I HATE THE MALLS , I PREFER THE LITTLE SHOPS!!
KISSES!
I love to shop the smaller shops too, it seems as though they have more unusual items.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to find a beautiful treasure. Your crown box is so unique and beautiful!
Hugs,
Love your little angel box! I have been listening to Christmas music too, as I wrap my presents. As you say, Christmas is bittersweet remembering those that are no longer with us, but, like Belle, I know that they are in heaven, and that I will see them again one day.
ReplyDeleteSame here Lu...I miss my Mom & Dad as well...
ReplyDeleteLove the Angel Box!

ReplyDeleteA lovely refreshing post to read, I know how you feel about your parents , my dad passed away when I was three a week before Christmas, mum and my husband both passed away in 1998 just 2 months apart , but I have such happy memories of Christmases with them......but I still feel loneliest at this time of the year.

ReplyDeleteYour angel box is absolutely adorable! I also noticed you made really nice pillows in the shop, especially love the St Therese pink patchwork pillow, she is my favorite Saint. I bought a St Therese chaplet on Etsy is made of pink pearl beads and is so pretty!

Hi Lu! Oh, what a lovely little angel box! I understand your sad heart at this time as you're missing your parents. My dad passed away on December 13, 1987 and I miss him terribly. But I know he's in heaven and has probably already been talking to your folks.

Dearest Lu,
ReplyDeleteOh, what a LOVELY Crown-Box with Angel♡♡♡
I cannot think of what I should put in that Gorgeous box, if I were you(*^_^*)
Yes, I miss all of my departed family, especially my bro who passed away last year unexpectedly!
Blessing to you, from Japan, xoxo Orchid*
Hello, Lu
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming over to my blog to become a follower. I have always wanted a pink kitchen! Where I grew up in Bellflower, the lady next door had a pink house AND a pink kitchen. I always wanted a pink Spanish style house near the ocean...in my dreams I guess.
Our family toured several of the missions about 15 years ago when it was a class school project for our children. It was quite an experience seeing the beauty of all of them.
Quite a nice heritage for the state of California. I think I like the one in Carmel the best...it is so romantic with lots of flowers everywhere in a very beautiful city.
I love Jesus, and I also adore kitty cats. Bless you for wanting to care for the feral kitties.
hugs,
Teresa in Central CA

Lu,
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most unique and beautiful treasures. I love the crown box, and it would look good in my red bedroom too. I know what you mean about the small quaint stores. I haven't been to the mall yet, but there are a couple things I have to still get. I am thinking about you, my sweet friend, because I am missing my mom and dad too this Christmas. They are in my heart every day. Enjoy the season.
