Hello and Happy New Year to one and all of my good friends here on blog land. As some of you know I have an invalid husband, Rick, who suffered a stroke and is paralyzed on his left side from head to toe. He has a computer and a tv to keep him occupied. Rick has always enjoyed photography so now he likes me to take him out so he can photograph city clocks among other things and here are a few of his pictures which he takes from the car or if we are walking he takes them from his wheel chair. He only has use of his right hand so he has a small camera that he can hold with one hand. We hope you enjoy them as much as he enjoys taking them. All taken here in Southern California.
We went up to Solvang and this is their clock.
Montrose is not far from here and he was able to take this picture.
We went to Riverside and stayed at the Mission Inn, he took several shots of this clock but we decided on posting this one.
LaVerne is about an hour from our home, it was a nice drive he caught a picture of this handsome clock.
We used to live in So. Pasadena so of course he wanted this clock.
On a visit to our daughter Judy in Upland he took this picture.
We went for lunch in Monrovia, he spotted this clock. Always carries his camera.
Our other daughter Julie, took us up to Los Olivos, I know the clock seems a little far but we had so much to do there that this was the best picture.
This is Duarte, we were just out for a little outing that day.
San Gabriel is the next city from us, took him with me on errands that day.
This clock is in down town Riverside.
Well all the clocks are ticking and soon we will see a New Year. My wish for us and for all of you is for good health, peace and love in our hearts and of course strength for those of us that have extra work with our husbands, like Dolores and Shirley.
God Bless everyone.
I have joined the party over at Ivy and Elephants please visit them to see what all the other gals have been up to. Link is on my side bar.

Your husband is so cleaver to think of taking pics of clocks in different places! I love that idea. I visited Solvang many years ago and grew up in California so I recognize many of the places. I went to the Senior Prom at the Mission Inn. What a beautiful building. My parents used to take us to Riverside Park when we were children. They used to have a Tilt-O-Whirl there. I remember the geese and swans too. I hope you both have a wonderful New Year. God bless.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures your husband took and most cleverly done.
ReplyDeleteI wish you both a Happy New Year.
Thanks for your support.
Yvonne.

What a wonderful selection of clocks that Rick has taken photos of. Thank him for sharing them with us today. I am so glad that he is still able to continue with his photography, as it must have been such a blow to him when he suffered that stroke. I pray that you and Rick will have a happy, peaceful and healthy new year and that God will give you both courage and strength to cope with the situation that you find yourselves in. Blessings my friend.

ReplyDeleteHello, Lu
ReplyDeleteI love this post of your husband's photos of clocks around Southern California. It is funny how a person can probably not even notice clocks until someone else points them out! Now, I will be noticing clocks everywhere since you have posted this lovely post.
We get to come down from Central California to the Rose Bowl on January 8th for the flea market. I have heard so much about it and have just never had the time to go. Have you ever been there? I would like to know when the best time to go is...the earliest costs $20 to get in and I wondered if it was worth it to pay that much or to go in when it doesn't cost as much. I know it will be lots of fun! I have been to one in Sacramento, which is only $3.00 to get in and is also the second Sunday of every month rain or shine under the freeway underpasses near 21st and W and X streets, I think. It was fun too! Mostly collectibles and goodies. I think their website is Sacramento Antique Flea Market, or something like that.
Yes! Please have your husband visit my brother Troy Howell's studio blog. There is lots to look at.
Enjoy your New Year's Eve~

Oh Lu, I love CLOCKS, and these pictures that your husband took are great! What a great idea for the New Year. I am familiar with many of these places, as I live in So. Cal. I wanted to thank you for your friendship this year. You have been a special blogging friend to me, and I am grateful. I hope the New Year brings you so much joy, and I can't wait to see more of your wonderful posts soon.

Hello, again, precious new friend Lu! You were so encouraging to me with your comment on my blog.... I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit so very much!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always enjoy your blog, too.... it is so beautiful!
Those clock pictures are awesome! Especially to see them one after the other, in order to compare and contrast the differences in them... no wonder he enjoys taking pics of them... made me realize what variety there is in the ways we keep track of time...
And you and your husband will definitely be in my prayers, dear heart...
Have a wonderful new year.....
Hugs from Texas,
Jenni
First of all, thank you for stopping by my movie blog yesterday. It's always a delight to hear from other William Holden lovers!!
ReplyDeleteNext of all, I love clocks...the old-fashioned kind, that is. Seems we seldom see those kinds nowadays. In my own home, for example, there are probably 8 clocks...all digital. I need to look at the thrift store for a really pretty wind-up kind of clock.
Finally, your husband's photography is beautiful. He really does an awesome job with his camera!
Wishing you a wonderful 2012. May it be a year of abundance and blessing.
Love,
Patti
