Life and Love As I was sitting in my patio the other day listening to the birds singing and the sound of water in our fountain, I began thinking back to when I was young and life was so much easier in many ways. We were not as advanced as we are today but the important thing is that we truly enjoyed life in a simpler way than today. A date could be simply a ride to the local ice cream parlor for an ice cream cone or a malt. Let me tell you a little funny story, when my husband, Rick and I were dating we went for that special ice cream cone one day . He went in alone to get the cones, I waited in the car. He must of had in mind what he was going to do that's why he told me to wait in the car, well when he came out, guess what? My cone had approximately fifteen or more scoops of ice cream. I could not believe what I was seeing, I had never seen that many scoops before on one cone but of course loved it and thought, what a sweet thing he had done, he just wanted to make me happy. It was one of the best outings we ever had. After that I always went in with him, didn't want a repeat performance. As a child dad always made mom and I happy, he was funny, danced around the house and always telling jokes to make us laugh. I believe we grew up being very close to our parents and family. We had family get togethers almost every weekend and we enjoyed aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters and of course grandparents. That was the thing to do, family get togethers, either at one of the homes, or at the beach or even a park. We must not forget all the good food, mom and my aunts and grandma were all excellent cooks and the food was always so yummy and smelled delicious. Mom never worked, therefore, I grew up very close to her, we were like best friends, despite the difference in our ages. She was 30 when she gave birth to me and lived till the age of 95. Isn't that wonderful? However, I still miss her so very much. Sometimes wish I could talk to her, confide in her like I always did and she would give me excellent advice, so I just talk to her picture and it helps me cope with whatever my situation is. I was so fortunate to learn so much from my mother, Emily was her name and also from my Godmother, Rita. Mom was a very petite lady measuring only 4ft. 11in. She was very intelligent inspite of having gone to school only to the second grade. She was self taught. Mom had a special style for dressing, I remember her always receiving compliments on her clothes. She loved faux furs, always wore hats and gloves and looked great in her suits. Life doesn't have to be how much money we make or what brand of clothes we wear, or the fancy car we drive. Life is about love for one another, life is about helping other folks that have less than we have. Life is about loving Jesus, children and all animals for without love we have nothing and that would be a very sad world. There are folks in the vast universe of ours that have no one, what they would give for a kind smile, a cup of water when thirsty or a place to rest when tired, so lend a helping hand when ever possible. Life is a blessing and if we are so blessed, why not send blessings on to others.

I love Purple

Hello dear friends, Can't believe it's been so long since I posted. Weather has been so wonderful that I have been outside working in my small garden/patio, I was just telling Rick that it's cleaner outside than inside. LOL...Also have done boutiques, sold on line, been busy on orders from home sales. Here are a few pictures of the patio. This chair was brown and since my colors are purple and turquoise in my patio, of course had to paint it purple.

I just put a lavender bed sheet on this and made the pillows.

Picked up this tablecloth with grapes cause of course it was purple.

May the Lord's blessings be with all those folks in the tornado states that lost their homes and everything they had.

Hello Dear Blogging Friends, Well Spring is here and we are all busy once again in our gardens. I have a couple of vegetables growing but need many more, might be going to the nursery this week to get a few. I looked on Pinterest for some bunnies and choose some cute ones for this post. Happy Valentine"s Day

Hello to all of my blogger friends... Rick and I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day. Hope all of you celebrate with a romantic dinner. I am planning a romantic brunch for us and can't wait to set it all up. Here is a picture of a small portion of some of my hearts, guess you all know that I collect hearts. Our daughter Judy took this picture of us on our 25th wedding anniversary. Please focus on the pink heart hanging in the center, that was send to me by a very dear friend I have in Grease, she makes beautiful things, we just met here on the blogs. Now we go to funeral homes
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,
From parties that were gay.
Now we suffer body aches
And wile the night away.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get sore bottoms
From riding in the car.

We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little wine.
Now we stay home at night

Hello and Happy New Year 2014 to all my dear blogging friends...
Can you believe another year gone? I pray this year brings all of us good health, love and lots of happiness.
This is Bailey, she belongs to our daughter Judy, #1, (first daughter born)
We spend Christmas Day at her lovely home, we were so lucky to also have our two granddaughters Kelly and Kimmie home for the holidays. Kelly lives up north in Monterey and Kimmie lives in New York.
It was a wonderful day for all of us.

Busy, busy season for all of us, friends and family are a calling, ovens in our kitchens are filled with baked goodies and they smell delicious.

These are some of my ladies that I will be taking to my boutiques. I always enjoy dressing up pretty ladies, these I bought at the Rose Bowl here in CA. Had many more but have sold them.
This first one is one of my favorites, probably cause it hangs on the wall.

The color turquoise has always been a gorgeous color so of course had to dress one in this color.

Random Pictures

Something is wrong with my blog and all my side bar is at the bottom. Has anyone had this problem and what can be done???

Hello to all my dear blogging friends,
Hope all of you have been enjoying life and the season, plus we are all looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Here are a few pictures, some things I have made, well I will explain each one.

This first one is a an old doll head I had and didn't know what to do with her. I went looking in a thrift store for something to put her in and found these two little angels, with mirror and an opening for a votive, thought it was the perfect place for her and this is the end result. I am happy with it.

Here is my collection of dress forms, some I have dressed others just embellished them.

My friend Lexa, she sells at Rainbow, CA, gave me this doll head and I sat her in this shoe. To me it's like she is driving it, so left her in it. Placed a large crown on her and embellished.

Next is another old doll head that I had and she fit perfectly on top of this little teapot. An old ring is her crown, then embellished her.

Some tell us that we must earn spiritual blessings, but Jesus says, "Just ask."

Pumpkins Everywhere

Hello to all,
Went to Trader Joe this week and had to take pictures of their beautiful orange pumpkins and flowers. It was such a delight to see the many pumpkins they had and everyone buying them, they just looked so festive.

Had to bring some flowers home, difficult to choose.

My favorite is pumpkin pie but pumpkin spread is right behind it and let's not forget pumpkin bread.

Aren't they just gorgeous?

This is a wonderful time for children with the many parties, the costumes and of course all the candy. Please have mom check all the candy before you start eating them, ok?
