Beautiful Birds

Hi Everyone, what a lovely day it is today. It's warm but we have a very nice breeze which makes it a perfect day.
My granddaughter send me some bird pictures from Facebook and I just had to share a few.

This first one is adorable, the parents made a nest in this old shoe.

Birds eat and eat and eat.

I will tell you a little secret.

Feeding time, my they do look hungry.

We feed birds and cats. I feed 10 cats twice a day, breakfast and dinner. We have had all of them fixed and they have their shots and flea medications. It's a lot of work but I enjoy doing it and dear husband likes watching them from his window. We have had no kittens for three years now.
I send blessings to all of you.

Pink Scarf Project

Dear Friends,
Hope all of you are well...Do you know about the Pink Scarf Project? Link on my side bar. Vicki is doing a year long project of collecting Pink Scarfs for women suffering from Breast Cancer. What a wonderful project and I know all of the women that will receive a Pink Scarf will be just trilled that so many of us are thinking and praying for them.
Well I have an invalid husband, Rick, as most of you know and my time is so limited to do things, however, I did start making a scarf but as you can see by the pic below, didn't get too far. But I have a very dear friend, Sandy Brown of hello-c estmoi is an absolutely amazing seamstress, you must see what she makes on her blog and on etsy also. Well she also has a darling daughter, Cheyenne, hope I spelled her name correctly who knits ever so well. She made a scarf for one of my daughters and she was extremely pleased with it and receives many compliments when she wears it. Well since I did not have time to do my scarf, I asked her to make me one for this very special project...picture below. I am very happy with the scarf and know the recipient will be over joyed. It's so beautiful, thank you so much Cheyenne, I truly appreciate your beautiful work.
Well I did start it :(

Finished scarf she made, I think it's gorgeous.
I did not mention that this lovely girl is only 17 years old.

Another view of the scarf.

Let's keep all of the lovely ladies with breast cancer in our daily prayers and also that a cure is found.

Our Fountain and Garden

Hello dear ones, hope all have been well...
we finally got out fountain working. We couldn't find a pump around here so our son had to send for one. It came this week and it is so wonderful to have it working once more. To listen to the sound of the water is so relaxing and here is a pic of it.
This one is a little dark.

A little better picture.

Welcome to my garden...that is what that little plaque reads.

I went to my local thrift store and found a bag full of lavender flowers with berries and grapes, well of course had to buy it. Attached to the love seat.
St. Anthony.
Around Rebecca, haven't really arranged them yet on her, but will do this today.

Hope your week is wonderful and blessed...

Daughter's Orchids

Hi Sweet Friends...
Think this month went even faster than the last one, what is going on?
My daughter Julie, that has the restaurant in Manhattan Beach, went to Italy this past spring for one month. She went with her church group, of course they visited churches in Italy, well one of those churches happens to be St. Anthony church and the priest is a good friend of her priest. He told them he was coming here about a month later, skip forward.....he did come and brought the St. Anthony relic with him, of course she wanted me to see it so she came for me. We heard mass and St. Anthony was right there in the alter. I took a pic of him, of course, and now I am sharing him.
Isn't he beautiful? In my family we are all devoted to him. I was chilled to be near him, especially when I touched him, he was so beautiful. We also received special blessings.

After church we went to her home for a snack and she wanted to show me her orchids. She has many orchids, I just took a few pictures because we had a busy schedule plus go to her restaurant to bring dinner home.

Here are a few of her orchids.

These purple ones are in her lanai.

Enjoy.

Many are in her dining room and it looks like Hawaii there.

This one is in sea shells, it's just a baby. As you can tell she likes yellow, my grandson made the table and she bought the tablecloth and plate in Italy.

Till next time, my friends, keep romance and love in your hearts always...

Rick Pictures

Hello Dear Ones...
Just cannot believe how fast the days go by and I had not posted anything. You know I thought when we retire we will have oodles of time and not true, trust me. Well anyway here are a couple of new pictures Rick has been taking.
I bought apples for a recipe so he decided to take a couple of pics of them.

This little wooden horse I bought in a thrift store, we really like him.

Of course this clock I could not resist, also at a thrift.

This black kitten came here and stayed. We named him Spider, I know not very original but it really suits him. I took this pic.

More apples.

Was so fortunate to win this ballerina doll on ebay. I like ballerinas.

Hope next time I don't take so long to post, the times just slipped by somehow.

Our Patio and Courtyard

Hi to all my friends, it's a cold morning here in So. CA today. Went to Trader Joe this morning and they had the air conditioner on, wow! was it ever cold in there. I even sneezed a few times.
Let's go out the door into our patio, I took these pictures the other day to show Rick since he can no longer go out there, which makes us both very sad. I miss sitting out there with him and enjoying our Sunday breakfast. however, we are still together having our breakfast inside in our entrance hall and that is what counts.
I saw somewhere that having a mirror in your garden is the reflection of your soul, so I immediately put a mirror in the garden.

I added purple to the patio this spring since I love the color so much.

This is the courtyard area, I enjoy my tea out here sometimes.

One entrance to patio.

I did the decal work on this tea set and fired them in my kiln, a very enjoyable hobby.

Here is Mr. Lion, that is what we call him.

This fern never stops growing.

My cat Jersey Girl, she follows me everywhere just like a dog. Loves being out here with me and she likes drinking from the hose.

Just a pretty yellow rose.

We are having the large fountain cleaned, therefore, no water right now. Many birds enjoy bathing here.

Hope you enjoyed this area of our home. Maybe someday we can share a cup of tea together here.

Have a great week everyone.
When Rick took the pics of the entrance hall.I told him not to show the floor cause I was working on it, now it's finished, so here it is.

More Wheel Chairs Views

Hello Dear Friends, I can't believe how fast this week went. In fact this entire month of June seems to have gone fast. Today I am listing more pictures of the entrance hall. A couple he forgot to take last week and a couple of new ones...so here we go. This first one is a better picture of the Virgin tapestry.

These doors lead to the dining room and kitchen.
Also a better look at the wine closet. Next to it is the guest closet so this one did not have a purpose that is why we decided to make a wine closet. We kept seeing them on home programs so decided to make one of our own.

We have breakfast on the weekends here in the entrance hall. He sits in his wheel chair that is why only one chair for me. I open both doors and it's like being outside, we can hear the birds singing and the water sounds from our fountains, so relaxing. I cannot take him outside anymore so this is the next best thing.

Then to the right of this table is the living room, which also has a nice view thru the sliding glass doors to the patio.
Well that's it for now. You know in all the years he has been taking pictures he never took any of the inside of our home, we do have a couple of outside pictures which I will show you on another time...
"The most important prayer in the world is just two words long. ~Thank you~" So true, thank you friends for being there.
