From Rick's Wheel Chair

Hello dear friends,
Well Rick and his camera were at it again. We went to the historic landmark San Gabriel Mission and took a walking tour, of course he was in his wheel chair. This mission was founded in 1771 and was designed by Father Antonio Cruzado of Spain. Rick was able to take a few pictures and that made him very happy, so here they are hope you enjoy them.
Here we have Jesus at the mission cemetery.

A sweet angel not far from Jesus.

This is inside the old church.

Our Mother Mary holding her Son. This is so beautiful.

Outside on the grounds we came across this lovely Virgin of Guadalupe.

This was the 4th mission built of 21 that we have here in California.

Father Serra the founder of the missions.

A small angel, these two were small and low on the ground, easy for him to photograph.

Jesus, no words needed.

Gorgeous angel, this one was my favorite.

The famous Mission Bells. They were very important and rang everyday to call the residents to work and to eat.

Oh what a wonderful day we had, we forgot the sunscreen and he burned his arms, but he was alright, actually he didn't even mind it because he had a great day.
He hopes you enjoyed this special day at the San Gabriel Mission. The grounds are so beautiful and so many grape vines, oh my goodness, they are everywhere.
Hope this week is a blessed one for all of you.

I have an adult son I care for in a wheel chair and I don't think I would have made it in this hot weather, my hats off to you sweetie. Thank you for your sweet condolences. Normally I would get another, but we have 3 others and are still in limbo with the divorce. If I don't get the house not sure what I will do with all our pets. Take care

  11. Hi Lu,
Rick did an awesome job with his photography! I especially love the Lady of Guadalupe!

Did you see "For Greater Glory", the movie about the Catholics in Mexico who were persecuted for their faith? IT is a recent movie and didn't stay for long. Sooooo good!

    All the best,

    ♥charlotte

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Wish I had seen this movie but unfortunately didn't. We don't get out much anymore, it's getting more and more difficult for Rick to do anything. We went to the mission cause one of our daughters went with us, I cannot handle him alone anymore. Blessings, Lu

  12. Lu, your husband's pictures are so beautiful. What a sound that would have been hearing the bells ring at the mission. The missions in California are so pretty. I went to one of them on my honeymoon many years ago. I hope you are having a nice summer.

  13. Hi Lu, Rick's pics are wonderful. I so enjoy your posts sharing his talents with us. These pics at the misson are very special. What a great day you both had visiting there. We went to St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe again this trip and it was amazing. I got some pics of the outside since none were allowed inside.
Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend my friend.
