Gone for a Little While

Hello to all my dear friends, just wanted to let all of you know that I will be taking some time off from my blog. First of all it's spring and I need to do a bit of spring cleaning and gardening. This week have another dental appointment to finish up my root canal but most important of all my hubby needs me. I have to spend more time with him and caring for his needs. Most of you know he is an invalid and is unable to walk, I do everything for him. He isn't asking me to give him more attention, absolutely not, he would never do that but I recognize the need for it and he comes first with me. So, have a happy spring everyone enjoy all the gorgeous flowers and I will be back soon. A couple of pics from our patio.

Love this Angel.

I will leave you with this: "If ever we doubt God's love for us or if ever our love for him grows faint, we need only to recall the Cross"

Dolls I Made

Hi Everyone, well been busy with a few things, one of which was a root canal. Also have been making dolls for a shop in which I sell. It's a vintage, collectibles and some handmade items. Here are a few pics of my dolls.
Angel doll, two cat dolls and a couple
of smaller ladies.

I'll miss them when they leave, oh well will just have to make more.

I just adore teddy bears and these are waiting patiently to be dressed.
I embellished this old bottle with the Virgin of Guadalupe, lace, a medal with her image, ribbon, white roses, appliques and enjoyed this so much.
Hope you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon. Don't forget fall back this week-end. "God is enjoying himself and
he expects us to join him" Have a great week.

Hello Dear Pink Friends, Well I have been having problems finding dark pink candles so my son and I decided to make candles. This is our first try at them. They are scented with lavender and we were very happy with them. We also made many votive candles since we uses those so much. These candles are made of soy and have cotton wicks. You know so many candles out there have a metal wick which is so bad for us to breath.

This beautiful plate is one of my latest finds and only paid $2. for it.

An original painting of Annie was $3. so had to have it, think she is so cute. Love finding these little treasures.

Tomorrow Sat. going to a huge yard sale. Over 100 sellers. Looking forward to it. Tonight I will leave you with this: "Peace rules the day, where reason rules the mind"...Wm. Collins

Daughter Loves Orange

One of my daughters Judy, loves the color orange. They have decorated the yard in this color. Since these pictures were taken, they have done so much more. I was there this past week and should of taken more pictures, especially cause the orange tree is full of oranges and adds to the decor.
She told her hubby Dann, they should paint that door orange for decor in the yard. So he just went ahead and painted it and surprised her. He always does things like that. As you can see  they are still working on that corner.
I love this swing, they sit on it to enjoy their early morning coffee on weekends.
Below this is Bailey their darling little Chihuahua in her Valentine sweater.

Her hubby surprised  her with a Valentine cake in soft orange frosting. I thought that was so cute.
This is a small section of their courtyard. It's just so cute.
Well this will do it for today and I will leave you with this: "God's do overs are truly fresh starts...clean slates without even a hint of chalk dust on them"

Thrift Finds

Sometimes we get so lucky at thrift shops and sometimes we just walk out with nothing. As some of you know I love cats and have three of my own plus feed feral cats, get them fixed and they get their shots. Well on my last trip to my local thrift shop I bought this darling little porcelain cat. I was so excited when I saw it, it's a Franklin Mint Cat made in Japan in 1984 and it was only $2.
Then at the back of the store they had a table just full of doilies from 25cents to $4.00 for the most expensive. I took most of them, only left a couple that I just didn't want. What an exciting day that was.
"Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows Him" ... Have a wonderful week. I will be sharing this with Ivy and Elephants, link on my side bar. These gals are wonderful and always have interesting posts.

Pretty Pinks

Hello dear pink friends, I have a few pretty pinks to show you today. Pink Saturday link on my side bar. Thank you Beverly. This first one is a pink rose which I purchased at the thrift shop for $2.00.
The second one is the box open to save little trinkets.
I love little teddy bears and have a few. This one I dressed with a vintage pot holder dress, remember them? Well it fit her just right so she decided she wanted it. She looks so cute.
This picture, again from a thrift shop was also $2.00 in a different frame, I liked this one better for it so changed it. Love, love this vintage picture.
It's very cold, raining in some places and snowing in others. Please everyone stay home and stay healthy. Blessings to all...

Pink Saturday

Hello Pink Friends, I am so late this week in posting my pinks, but as some of you know I have been sick all week with a nasty cold. Feeling so much better now but not yet perfect. Here are a couple of pinks that I completed while I was sick. Perhaps they aren't perfect but I had to do something, difficult to sit doing nothing even though not feeling well. However, I did quite a bit of sleeping and had lots of chicken soup. Her face is hand embroidered.
This little guy sits in a demi cup.
Let me tell you, it's no fun being sick, especially taking care of my invalid husband. Thank God for my son who did so much for us. We are lucky he works from home and lives upstairs from us. Stay healthy everyone...

Pink Saturday

Hello Dear Friends, I have been under the weather this week, therefore, have not posted. It's just a cold but it's a nuisance having it. My son made chicken soup for me today and washed many dishes and pot/pans, what a blessing. Thank you my dear Jerry. Here are a few pictures with pink since I am also joining Pink Saturday with Beverly. Link on side bar. Thank you Beverly.
A rose pillow which I bought in a cute little shop that still had handmade items. Sad to say it's gone now. I really like this pillow in pink.
This pretty mirror is in our bedroom and you can see my dress form in the distance.
You have probably seen these book boxes. I decorated this one in a Paris motif in pink and added gold highlights.
Don't you just love pink and black together? I certainly do, therefore, did this box in those colors. I sold two similar to this one at a boutique.
Ok, dear ones, guess that's it for today, hope I am feeling much better tomorrow. Take care everyone and don't get sick.

Romance--of-Roses

Hello and Welcome to my blog dear friends...Today we are sharing vintage or thrift store finds on our blogs for Etsy Cottage Style. So here we go. Bought this at one of my favorite thrift shops, of course it didn't look like this. I painted it pink, made of metal and it sits in our patio. Think I paid $1.00 for it.
This very pretty box also found at a different thrift shop and I gave it a little different look so it would fit here with my other things.
I love finding pretty plates, these I found quite some time ago but still love them. Recently found a couple of heart plates, which will share on another time.
Hope all of you are enjoying these first few days of our new year 2013 and looking forward to a beautiful year, I sure am.

My Birthday 1-13-13

Hello to all my dear friends here in blogland. Yes, my birthday is coming up and I am so excited because of the numbers. My lucky number has always been 13 and this year I get a double whammy. Ok, met my dear hubby Rick on the 13 and we took out our marriage license also on a 13 but not only that, both were on a Friday the 13th. Don't know if you saw Sheri's portrait on her blog Red Rose Alley (don't know how to make a link) well it's just so beautiful and so it reminded me that when Rick was in the service in Japan, of course he was my boyfriend then, I had send him a small photo of myself and he had it hand painted on silk. Yes saved it all these years and the colors have not changed, told Sheri that I would make a post with it, so here it is. First is the painting on silk then the photo of myself that they took it from. I was all of 16 years old. I think they did an amazing job, just a tad difference but all in all it's good. So since it's my birthday thought would share this with all of you. Thank you everyone for being such great friends to me, Kerri, Celestina, Sheri, Sandy, Dolores, Shirley, Marylou and so many others here in the states and all my friends in Greece, Italy, Brazil and more. Love all of you.
