Hi dear pink friends,
Pink Saturday is here again and hope all of you have been well and enjoying summer. Here it's been pretty hot, above 90 everyday.
My granddaughter Kelly was over to visit and brought me these beautiful Gerber Daisies. Well I just had to share them with all of you today. I love the color.
Gerbera is important commercially. It is the fifth most used cut flower in the world (after rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip).
I had them in the dining room but now they are here in our bedroom.
Ornamental plants from the sunflower family (Asteraceae). It was named in honour of the German botanist and naturalist Traugott Gerber.
I don't have Gerber Daisies in my garden but looking forward to having them next summer. Thank you Beverly for hosting our Pink Saturday that we all love so much. Link on my side bar so you can see many other beautiful pinks.
Remember: In the garden we don't count the hours! How true, I forget everything when I am in my garden.
I know some of you enjoy seeing pictures my husband Rick takes from his wheel chair, so if you missed the last post it;s the one right below this one. Thanks for looking.

Hi Lu! Your Gerbera Daisies are just lovely. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comment on my mirror! Tuula :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lu, Your Pink Gerber Daisies are so pretty. I love looking at everyone's flowers because I sure don't have a green thumb that is for sure. Hope all is well with you as can be expected. We see our primary on Monday to plan our next course of action. Keeping praying for a miracle, I know, but I can always hope. Trying to stay positive, but very hard at times. Have a great weekend. We are in the 80's today. Hugs from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! I didn't know they were so popular, but I can see why.
ReplyDeleteI love Gerber Daisys, my friend gave me some pink potted ones, they seem to do well in the house, but droop from the Florida heat when I put them out. I cam see why they are so popular

Hi Lu, Oh your daisies are gorgeous. Love the color. Your grand daughter is so thoughtful. I love how you display these beauties too.
ReplyDeleteI planted some this year and in the heat they did pretty well, but I am hoping they are even better next year with a year in the ground to set root.
Thank you for stopping by while I was on vacation. Santa Fe was amazing and so much cooler. I will share pics soon. Have a nice weekend!
XO Celestina Marie
I love your daisies! My mother in law had a huge flower bed of white daisies; she's pick them and put them in colored water and we'd love seeing the transformation of colors.
ReplyDeleteHope you all are doing well!
Hugs,
GORGEOUS! I have these growing on the back patio by the pool and they're not nearly as lush as yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Lavender Hill!
