Hope for All
This poem was send to me from our cousin in Oregon, I just had to post it.
****
This poem gives a person hope for tomorrow.
Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"This is heaven." declared a small boy. "We're spending Christmas at God's house."
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring,
those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"May this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"Come now my children, let me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

I saw this poem on facebook, and it really is lovely. I feel desperately sorry for the ones left behind. The ones that have to try to pick up the pieces of their lives and carry on living :(
ReplyDeleteHi Lu, this is beautiful. I love it!! Thank-you so much for sharing. I am still tearing up over this tragedy, but reading this makes me feel better.

Hi Lu~
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I really like your wallpaper! It is divine!
I received that poem yesterday via email. Isn't it wonderful?! I know the children are having such a wonderful time in heaven and their parents and siblings and loved ones just ache! We must keep praying for them! Thank you for the reminder!
Thank you, too, for stopping by and your wonderful comment!

Merry Christmas Lu to you and your family. I have read three different poems, but very similar. Each time I read it, it makes me tear up because it was so senseless. All the gun control in the world won't stop it, if someone wants to do that. I so appreciate your visit and pray that 2013 will be a better year for us both. Hubby is going to end up with a limp, but he will walk again. At least I still have him. I thought I lost him the day of the hip replacement surgery. Seven units of blood. We just know now he won't live through another surgery. The family will be with him at the nursing home on Christmas Eve. We have a room so that we can have a meal with him. I really appreciate your visits. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to send along some wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A beautiful and heart-touching poem. Wouldn't it be wonderful if nothing would have happened and the inspiration for the poem would not be necessary.....
ReplyDeleteMERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!

Dolores, That is a beautiful thought indeed. But on the contrary now other schools are on lock down and the children are scared to attend school. Merry Christmas my dear friend...Lu
